Coagulation Parameters among Individuals with Hepatitis B Infections in Okada, Edo State, Nigeria

Hepatitis B Viral (HBV) infection is a condition of inflammation the liver. The Liver plays vital role in body which includes filtration blood, production coagulation proteins and also as storage organ. In this study, alteration some parameters include, Prothrombin time (PT), activated partial thromboplastin (APTT), Platelets counts (PLATS) were determined sixty (60) known seropositive individuals using standard haemostatic techniques. There was significant reduction mean value (mean values) on platelet (p- value) compared to control group value), revealed study an increase mean-time PT among test seronegative controls individuals, there prothrombin well Activated with both having p- values < 0.001. average APTT 25.53 48.89 respectively. Individuals are thus liable thrombocytopenia if not managed.
